Introduction

Our lifestyle over the past century is the main cause for the rapid decline in the earth's health. From the industrial revolution of the 40's and 50's, to our reliance on vehicles as a main source of transport, to the use of harmful materials such as CFCs, and the reliance on electrial hardware have all contributed to the ailing health of the earth.

It is through various environmental groups, scientists, and recent natural disasters that have given the problems of the earth's health front page news, and wider acknowledgement of the problem.

This article will present a device that would play some part in improving the earth's current health degration.

The device is an energy monitor. It is a device the size of a remote, and takes readings of power and energy consumption. Any electrical device can connect to the handheld device to have its reading displayed on the miniture screen. The device is able to calculate the expected power and energy consumption of the device over a period of weeks, months or years. It is also able to give out other readings, like voltage, amps and wattage.
