Met group members Chose topic – RFID tag finder Went over some applications for the RFID and discussed limitations ie range, number of tags, and use of a hand-held device -> idea of a PC compatible module. Discussed functions of an RFID -> see design requirements

Giles absent from tutorial
Made CRC cards and discussed classes for project
Contacted Giles and John via skype during the week
Made user scenarios for RFID

Spoke to Giles and John on Skype. Discussed PowerPoint, use cases and class diagram. Had some problems with the wiki. Ran through some ideas for the project development Allocated tasks for presentation tasks (1 hr).

Discussed and wrote sequence diagrams. Worked on bits of the project after class.

Skype Conference (1 hr) . All present. Completed wiki documentation for the design phase ran over last minute issues and finalised presentation.

OOD project documentation and presentation due.

Saw Giles and John briefly during tutorial. General discussion. Agreed to meet at 12 on Saturday for Skype conference.

No sign of Giles or John on Skype. No answer on mobile.

Spoke to Lian today about the development milestones for the project. Started working on the Tag and Tag Manager classes as we discussed in the tutorial. Giles and John didn’t show for class, and no reponse to emails. Updated wiki with the classes I intended to program.

Created Tag and Tag Manager classes. Began class definitions and initialisation.
Finally got a call from Giles. Asked about deliverables for next week.

Wrote add/edit methods as well as default input and output methods.

Received an email from John with the latest code for the GUI class.
Wrote methods of deleting and finding an existing tag.

Met Lian in LDC1 to get some help with the tag manager class. Got some direction and ideas for arrays. Start working on constructors for tags and arrays for keeping all the tags that get added to the system.

Several emails to Giles about method names and definition in Tag Manager class.
Still having trouble with the “batik” library in John’s code.
31/10/07
Saw Lian again in LDC1 to get some help debugging arrays and methods. Finished the array controls and definitions.

Absolute disaster with project. Giles and John seemed to be able to get their code to run. My classes crashed on Blue J. Didn’t have the same problems in Eclipse. No tester class none of the code could be tested on Blue J. Very disappointed with it.

Wrote new class diagram for project. Our original, not milestone 1, design was closer to the actual prototype. Added use cases to upload to wiki. Wrote test cases out that would have been used in the ‘tester’ class had it been working.

Finished off documentation for final upload to wiki.
